There are different types of bankruptcies published. Chapter 7 is a personal bankruptcy. Chapter 11 is usually filed by a business seeking temporary protection from creditor's claims during reorganization. Chapter 13 is filed by employed individuals and by very small businesses who then pay their debts according to a plan supervised by a court-appointed trustee. Bankruptcy listings include the case number, the name and address of the petitioner, the chapter filed and the attorney's name.   HOW TO USE: Bankruptcy notices are a valuable source of information to Credit Managers enabling them to monitor customers for money owed as well as the credit standing of prospective businesses. Those in bankruptcy may be prospects for many products and services after the clearing of bankruptcy proceedings.
