Q: What does the Commercial Recorder publish?
A: The Commercial Recorder publishes public notices, citations and public access
records taken in part from the Bexar County Courthouse. These include District & County court new suits, bankruptcies, judgments, public notices and liens. Among the sales tools we publish are assumed names, sales tax permits, beer & wine permits, building permits and certificates of occupancy. Q: What sales leads are available?
A: We provide many different forms of sales leads. Assumed names and sales tax permits indicate new businesses that are opening up, or have recently started business. Building permits and certificates of occupancy also indicate new businesses. Home equity loans show people who have just received a large amount of money, and are good sources of leads for painters and home remodelers. Marriage license filings are excellent leads for insurance sales, as newlyweds are now in the market for life insurance. There are many different examples of these types of leads, and it is up to you to decide how these leads relate to your business. Q: How do I access the newspaper?
A: The Commercial Recorder is available at rack locations by the Bexar County Courthouse. One is located outside on the north side of the Bexar County Courthouse, and another rack is located by the cafeteria in the basement of the Bexar County Justice Center. The newspaper is also mailed to subscribers, who also have online access to the newspaper. To subscribe online, you may subscribe here. You may also call us at 210-250-3922 to subscribe over the phone.
Q: Is the data in the newspaper available for online browsing or searching?
A: Certain parts of the newspaper is available for online browsing and searching. Current databases that can be browsed are assumed
names, marriages, home equity loans, warranty deeds, disposition suits, district court new suits, bankruptcies, county court new suits and abstracts of judgments. There is a charge to browse the databases. You can find more information about the databases and take a sample database tour here.
Q: How often is the newspaper published?
A: The newspaper is published Monday thru Friday, except for most federal holidays. The newspaper is NOT published Saturday or Sunday.
Q: Are the sales leads available on disk or by email?
A: Sales leads are available in many forms. for a fee we provide daily, weekly or monthly labels and also provide the same information in ascii, Word®, Excel® or database files on disk or by email. We also provide online downloads of pre-set labels of marriages, deeds, assumed names and sales tax permits. You can use these labels on your direct mail pieces to contact new customers.
